Crackdown 2 is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Ruffian Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios. The game was released in July 2010 and is exclusive to the Xbox 360. Crackdown 2 is the sequel to the first installment Crackdown from 2007.

The game is set in the fictional city of Pacific City, which is now plagued by a wave of crime and violence caused by gangs and the emerging threat of mutants called Freaks. Players take on the role of an agent from an agency called "The Agency" who is sent into the city to maintain order and eliminate these threats.

Crackdown 2 is based on a sandbox gameplay style, allowing players to freely explore the city and decide how they want to progress through the game. Players can complete main missions that focus on fighting gangs and mutants, but they can also engage in side quests and activities such as collecting agile orbs that increase the player's abilities or participating in races.

The game builds on the abilities and character upgrades that players acquire while playing. These abilities include increased strength, speed, jump height, shooting and durability. Crackdown 2 also offers a wide variety of weapons and vehicles that players can use to eliminate enemies.

Crackdown 2 includes a cooperative multiplayer mode that allows up to four players to play together to explore Pacific City, complete missions and improve their abilities. The game also offers competitive multiplayer modes such as "Rocket Tag" and "Vehicle Tag" where players compete against each other in various challenges.
