Mass Effect is a 3D sci-fi action RPG that, like all BioWare products, offers a rich storyline and immerses the player in a world where the fate of the galaxy depends on their choices.
The player, together with his colleagues - the protectors of galactic peace - will defend the world from the attack of a former agent (=colleague) who has crossed over to the other side. But as it happens in life, nothing is as simple as it seems and the player discovers, by finding out more information, that the real threat is someone else.
Mass Effect is the first title in a planned trilogy that, in addition to the story, also emphasizes team fights and related tactics - so it won't just be about the speed of button mashing, but the player will be forced to devise different combat strategies. Of course, every good RPG also includes a number of side-quests that await the player as they travel across the galaxy, and which are optional to complete.
