Ghost Rider is an action game that takes place after the events of the movie of the same name, which in turn is based on a character from Marvel comics.

You are Johnny Blaze, who for noble reasons has sold his soul to a demon named Mephisto. Now several villainous demons have escaped from Hell, and Mephisto needs to destroy them before they cause him trouble. If you don't, he'll take your girlfriend back to hell with him.

Ghost Rider attacks with his fiery hell chains, much like in God of War. If he uses different moves and avoids getting hit, he will fill the revenge bar. The more this bar fills up, the more souls he gains from the enemies he kills. Souls are used to buy new moves and accessories, such as additional characters. There are some shield-protected enemies where you must have a minimum revenge bar to damage them. There is also a ghost meter, which is basically a special meter and also builds up by attacking. It allows you to use special moves such as your shotgun.

There are also levels with the hellbike, where you have to successfully avoid obstacles while destroying enemies using the hellbike's attacks and your chains. Additionally, this version of the game includes a challenge mode that is based on the Hellcycle levels with variations of the rules: elimination and survival (each racer has a dwindling life bar that can only be replenished by driving through checkpoints).a
