The game focuses on the story of Zack Fair, a young warrior admired by a boy destined to save the world, trusted by men recognized as heroes of legend, and loved by a girl who holds the fate of the planet in her hands. The full story of Zack's dreams and the honor that binds him to Cloud is revealed in this spectacular saga that has surpassed the limits of the HD remaster.

The graphics have been fully remastered in HD, bringing the game to the latest generation of consoles. The gameplay experience is also enhanced by newly redesigned 3D models, including characters and backgrounds, and an improved combat system for a much smoother gameplay experience. Dialogue is spoken in both English and Japanese and the original composer, Takeharu Ishimoto, has provided a newly arranged soundtrack.
