The game is set in a world full of neon lights, where technological advances have led to people being consumed by commercial convenience. The story revolves around a secret war between two factions, the Yatagaras and the Phantom Society, which are groups of Devil Summoners that can control the supernatural powers of the "Demons".

In the digital realm of humanity, a consciousness known as Aion has evolved. Observing humanity from afar, Aion calculates that an impending catastrophe means the end of the world and therefore creates two agents, Ringo and Figue, to prevent the catastrophe. These agents must investigate and prevent the so-called butterfly wing effect that would lead to the world's demise.
