Middle-earth: Shadow of War is an action RPG developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game was released for PlayStation 4 and other platforms and continues the story that was started in the previous game Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

The game is set in J.R.R. Tolkien's world known from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Players take on the role of Talion, who is a ranger killed and revived by the spirit of Celebrimbor, an elf-forge. Together they embark on a journey to Mordor, where they attempt to defeat the Dark Lord Sauron and his servants. A major feature of the game is the Némesis system, which allows players to build their own orc army and gain allies and enemies among the various orc commanders.
