Portal 2 is a physics-based puzzle game developed by Valve Corporation. The game was released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows in April 2011. Portal 2 is the sequel to the first installment, Portal, which was originally part of The Orange Box compilation released in 2007.

Portal 2 introduces players to a series of logic challenges and puzzles that require the use of a portal weapon that can create two connected portals on different surfaces. Players must use these portals to overcome various obstacles and progress through the game's levels. The game emphasizes experimentation, problem solving and creative thinking.

Portal 2 expands on the story and gameplay elements of the first installment and introduces new characters, new resources and expanded puzzle-solving options. The main character is once again Chell, who returns to the Aperture Science Enrichment Center, where she is guided by a new artificially intelligent companion named Wheatley. Together they try to escape the testing facility and defeat the main antagonist, GLaDOS, the artificial intelligence from the first episode.

One of the biggest new features of Portal 2 is the two-player co-op mode, in which players take on the roles of two robots, Atlas and P-Body. The co-op mode features its own series of puzzles and challenges that require cooperation and coordination between the two players. This mode can be played locally via splitscreen or online via the internet.
