The game immerses you in the magical world of The Golden Compass, created by the studio responsible for the Lord of the Rings film trilogy. It's a world where witches fly in the icy skies, giant armoured bears defend their kingdoms and nasty Gobblers abduct children into the icy wastes. In this world of omnipresent danger and also amazing adventure, heroine Lyra Belacqua sets out to save her loved ones. Her uncle, Lord Asriel, has been imprisoned and her best friend Roger kidnapped. She is aided on her journey by the animal demon Pan, as well as the huge and powerful polar bear Iorek, and the mysterious Golden Compass, a truth-telling thingy that helps the whole group find their way.
