Call of Duty: Black Ops II is a first-person shooter game developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. The game was released in 2012 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC. It is the ninth installment in the popular Call of Duty franchise and the sequel to 2010's Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Black Ops II presents an innovative approach to the story compared to previous games in the series. The game is set in the near future, specifically 2025, and presents a more branching story with choices that affect the final outcome. The story follows Alex Mason, the protagonist from the original Black Ops game, and his son David Mason as they face a new global threat in the form of a terrorist named Raul Menendez.

The game features an extended singleplayer campaign in which players go through various missions and fight enemies in different environments. The campaign includes traditional linear missions, but also adds a new mission type called "Strike Force" that allows players to choose between different objectives and control units on the battlefield.
