Bulletstorm is an innovative first-person action shooter developed by People Can Fly and Epic Games, released by Electronic Arts in February 2011 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The game distinguishes itself from traditional shooters by emphasizing creative violence and a unique scoring system based on how stylishly and effectively players eliminate their enemies.

The game's protagonist is Grayson Hunt, a former member of an elite assassination squad who finds himself on a deserted planet with his team after a series of events. He soon discovers that the planet is home to dangerous gangs and mutants, and decides to fight them to get to safety and get revenge on the general who put him in this situation.

Bulletstorm introduces the "Skillshot" system, which rewards players for killing enemies in the most original and effective ways. Players can use a variety of weapons, a special energy whip and the environment to create spectacular combinations that maximize the number of points earned for each kill. The more creative and brutal the method of eliminating an enemy, the more points the player earns, which can then be used to purchase upgrades and ammunition.
