Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition is an expanded version of the original Resident Evil 5, developed by Capcom and released in March 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The Gold Edition includes all of the original game content along with added DLC and exclusive bonuses.

The main story of Resident Evil 5 follows the characters of Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar as they work together to fight bioterrorism in the Kijuju region of Africa. This game features a two-player co-op mode where players can work together locally or online to progress through the story and fight enemies and bosses together.

The Gold Edition includes the following content:

The original Resident Evil 5 game.
"Lost in Nightmares" - Additional episodic content that focuses on Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine during their mission to find Oswell E. Spencer at his mansion. This episodic content offers more survival horror elements.
"Desperate Escape" - More episodic content in which players control Sheva Alomar and a new character, Josh Stone, who helps Sheva escape from a siege of enemies and find Chris.
"Versus" - A multiplayer mode in which players can fight against each other in pairs in various game modes such as Slayer, Survivor, Team Slayer and Team Survivor.
New Characters and Costumes - Gold Edition includes new characters for "Mercenaries" mode and alternate costumes for Chris and Sheva that can be used in both the main story and "Mercenaries" mode.
"The Mercenaries Reunion" - An expanded version of the popular "Mercenaries" mode, featuring new characters, enemies and weapons.
