Sonic Heroes is an action platformer developed by Sonic Team and published by SEGA. The game was released for PlayStation 2 (PS2), but also for other platforms such as Xbox, GameCube and PC. Sonic Heroes was released in late 2003 and early 2004, depending on the region.

Sonic Heroes introduces a new way of playing within the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, where players control a team of three characters that complement each other's abilities. The game features four different teams that have different missions and story lines: Team Sonic (Sonic, Tails and Knuckles), Team Dark (Shadow, Rouge and Omega), Team Rose (Amy, Cream and Big) and Team Chaotix (Espio, Charmy and Vector).
