Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (GTA: LCS) is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Rockstar Leeds in partnership with Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. The game was originally released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) in October 2005 and was later ported to the PlayStation 2 (PS2) in June 2006.

GTA: Liberty City Stories is set in Liberty City, a fictional city based on New York City, and is a prequel to Grand Theft Auto III. The game is set in 1998, three years before the events of GTA III. The player controls Toni Cipriani, who has returned to Liberty City after several years of exile.

Toni re-enters the world of organized crime, working for various mafia groups and completing missions to gain respect and power. Throughout the game, the player meets various characters that appear in other games of the Grand Theft Auto series.

GTA: Liberty City Stories is based on the same gameplay foundation that made the entire Grand Theft Auto series famous. Players have a large open world in which they can freely explore, steal vehicles, participate in side missions and minigames, and complete main story missions to advance in the story.

The game has improved some aspects of gameplay over its predecessors, such as better vehicle controls, the addition of motorbikes, and improvements to the police AI. However, due to the limitations of the PSP hardware and the subsequent PS2 port, the game did not have as large and detailed a world as some of the later games in the series.
