PS2 Shadow of Rome (disc only)

Shadow of Rome is an action-adventure game for PlayStation 2 that combines intense combat sequences with elements of stealth and intrigue. The game is set in ancient Rome and follows the lives of the two main characters Agrippa, a skilled soldier, and Octavius, a clever and skilful politician. The story begins with the murder of Julius Caesar, of which Agrippa's father is falsely accused. The player embarks on a journey to uncover the real culprit, alternating between brutal arena battles as Agrippa and spy missions full of disguises and subterfuge with Octavio.

The game stands out for its combination of action and strategic approach. Arena combat is dynamic and players can use a variety of weapons such as swords, spears or shields, with brutality and violence being a key part of the atmosphere. Conversely, the stealth sections require patience and tactical thinking. Shadow of Rome also impresses with its sophisticated graphics and believable treatment of the historical setting, which transports players to the life of ancient Rome. Despite its minor commercial success, the game is still appreciated today for its originality and balanced gameplay experience.
