Mafia is an open-world action-adventure video game developed by Czech company Illusion Softworks and published by 2K Games. It was originally released for PC in 2002 and ported to PlayStation 2 and Xbox in 2004.
The game is set in the 1930s, and players take on the role of Tommy Angelo, a taxi driver who becomes involved with the Mafia in the fictional city of Lost Heaven (which is inspired by cities such as New York, Chicago and San Francisco of the time). The game features a combination of vehicle driving and third-person shooting.
Mafia's gameplay revolves around exploring the open world of the city, completing story missions and interacting with various characters.
