Medal of Honor: Rising Sun is a first-person war shooter developed by EA Los Angeles and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released for PlayStation 2 and other platforms in November 2003. Rising Sun is the fifth installment in the highly successful Medal of Honor series, which focuses on World War II.

The game's story follows Private Joe Griffin, who serves in the U.S. Navy during World War II. The story begins on December 7, 1941 during the attack on Pearl Harbor, where the player must survive and fight against Japanese forces. During the course of the game, the player gets into other battles in the Pacific, such as the battles of Guadalcanal and the Philippines.

The game focuses on authentic weapons, environments and combat situations from the World War II era. Players must use a variety of strategies and tactics to survive and accomplish their missions. Medal of Honor: Rising Sun also includes a multiplayer mode that allows up to four players to play simultaneously on a single console or up to eight players online in various modes such as Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag.
