Ever since the first track and field came out for arcades in 1983, people have been looking for new ways to press buttons faster. Eventually, people hit two buttons instead of hitting them directly (the faster you hit them, the faster your character ran). Track and Field has already been released for the PlayStation.

If you're a fan of the Olympics or looking for a fun multiplayer game for the PlayStation, you should definitely give it a try. Track and Field 2 is just great fun. Konami did the right thing by deciding to keep the proven game that made the franchise famous. This game features 12 disciplines, including long jump, cycling, diving and hammer throw. With the exception of three disciplines, all of the events are fairly simple and test how fast you can actually press the buttons, your timing, or a combination of the two. Disciplines such as diving and horse jumping will take some time to perfect as they require a bit more timing-based elements than the others.

Visually, Track & Field 2 is good. The realistic animation and the detail of the polygonal athletes are two aspects of the graphics that give Track and Field 2 such a distinctive look. All of the athletes have very detailed faces and bodies. The tracks and fields they compete on also look quite convincing and are filled with cameramen, coaches and spectators. In the audio department, Track and Field 2 is adequate. All of the sound effects are fairly accurate and many of the sounds and screams of the athletes themselves are realistic and sometimes comical. The music is barely noticeable, which is fitting for a focused competition like this. The announcer, who throws out the scores and results after each attempt, does his job quite well. Overall, International Track and Field 2 is a very entertaining game. If you're a fan of multiplayer games, definitely give it a try.
