Ultimate Fighting Championship is the first video game based on the popular mixed martial arts (MMA) organization Ultimate Fighting Championship. The game was developed by Opus for the Sony PlayStation 1 console on November 13.
Ultimate Fighting Championship offers players the opportunity to participate in fictional fighting tournaments within the world of the UFC. Players can control various fighters such as Mikey Burnett, Mark Coleman, Gary Goodridge, Matt Hughes, Tito Ortiz and more. The game focuses on the fighting between the fighters and players can use different punches, holds and combinations of punches to defeat their opponent.
Ultimate Fighting Championship was the first attempt to bring the popular sporting event to video game form, and over time other games have been created to better capture the atmosphere and realism of UFC fights.
