Lightning McQueen prepares his academy students for the upcoming prestigious Race-O-Rama competition. But other teams are also preparing for it, and Chick Hicks has set up his own academy, but he ignores the principles of fair play and will not stop using the dirtiest tricks to achieve victory.

Players will encounter fifteen new heroes, with a total of 30 different cars to choose from. They will then be able to upgrade their car throughout the game, as well as change its appearance from wheels and bumpers to the hood or spoiler. There will be a total of eight environments to race in, four of which will be featured for the first time ever. In addition to the Radiator Springs racetrack, they'll also get to see the beaches of Santa Carburera, the Baja desert and the urban environment of Motoropolis.

During the races, they'll also enjoy enlivening inserts while performing stunts that will amaze the audience. Meanwhile, the races will be as thrilling as possible, as your opponents won't shield themselves from using dastardly tricks to stop you from winning. In multiplayer, players will also be treated to special challenges and mini-games in the spirit of Disney's Cars cartoons.
